Cole Swider

Cole Swider, F, St. Andrews

Cole Swider and the St. Andrew’s Saints will travel from Barrington, Rhode Island, to Salisbury to compete in the Governor’s Challenge for the first time. Swider is a 6-foot-8-inch, 215-pound power forward who is ranked as the top 2018 player in the state of Rhode Island and as the 35th in the country on the ESPN 100 list. This top prospect is considered to be one of the most elite shooters in the nation, making him a perfect stretch four man at his size. He won the 2016-17 Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 26.5 points and 11 rebounds per game. He recently signed his letter of intent to play for Villanova.

Demetrius Mims

The Long Beach State commit comes into the Governor's Challenge as one of the top seniors in the state. Demetrius helped lead Baltimore Poly to a Maryland 3A State Championship, while being named an All Metro first team player in 2016. After averaging 14.9 points and 4 rebounds per game in his Junior campaign, he is only 43 points away from scoring his 1000 point as a four year starter at Poly. Mims held 10 other Division 1 offers including VCU, Rhode Island & Towson before committing to Long Beach St. in September.

Jermaine Harris

Jermaine Harris, C, Rock Creek Christian

6'9 center, Jermaine Harris, comes to Salisbury with Rock Creek Christian for a second straight appearance as a 4 Star, Top 100 player in the country & Top 5 player in Maryland. Jermaine was named Capital Beltway Athletic Association player of the year after leading Rock Creek to the conference title in his Junior year. He was also named to the DMVelite All Maryland First Team after averaging 13.7 points per game. Harris recently committed to Rhode Island in October but held 17 other offers from elite schools such as Kansas, Georgetown, Maryland, West Virginia, Xavier, Miami and more.

Justin Lewis

Justin Lewis, PF, Baltimore Poly

Justin Lewis will come to Baltimore Poly as their newest member after transferring from Calvert Hall to Poly for the upcoming season. Lewis was one of the top freshman in the area last year and finds himself as the #2 Sophomore in the state of Maryland currently. At 6'8 200 lbs. at only 15 years old, Lewis has all the makings of a huge Division 1 bigman. Justin already holds offers from Georgetown, UNLV, Penn State and more and has begun receiving interest from North Carolina. In October, Justin was selected and participated in the 2017 USA Men's Junior National Team Minicamp, for a third year, along with Poly Coach, Sam Brand.

Juwan Gary

A standout forward, Gary is ranked as a top 30 junior and top 10 small forward in the country leading Gray Collegiate to its first ever trip to Wicomico County. As a highly touted national prospect, Gary will be one of the top players in a star loaded matchup of Gray vs. Sanford. At 6'5 and a high flying athlete, Juwan will bring lots of energy to the Civic Center on Dec. 29th. Currently uncommitted, he holds offers from programs such as Clemson, NC State and Maryland with building interest from powerhouse schools including UNC, Kansas & UConn. Juwan is another featured player to watch that participated in the USA Basketball Junior National Team Minicamp in October.

Jyare Davis

Jyare Davis, SG , Sanford School

As the #1 ranked 2020 player in the state of Delaware, Jyare will lead Sanford back to Salisbury to show his dominance to an even larger crowd. Jyare last played in the Governor's Challenge as an 8th grader where he impressed with 15 points, 11 rebounds and a monster dunk over a 6'10 opponent. Davis has been shooting up rankings and is projected to soon be one of the top 2020 players in the country while videos of his game have been plastered all over the internet, including a featured video by Bleacher Report. The 6'7 star also recently participated in the USA Basketball Junior National Team Minicamp where tons of college coaches drew interest in Jyare. He currently holds offers from Florida & Miami with interest from Villanova, but expect dozens of offers to be heading his way soon.

Kevon Voyles

As one of the top local players in Maryland's eastern shore, Kevon will be a fan favorite for local powerhouse, Stephen Decatur, at this year's Governor's Challenge. Voyles is an early favorite to win Bayside player of the year locally after being named to the all Bayside Conference first team and an all state honorable mention as a Junior. Last season, Kevon averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds & 3 assists per game for the 25-2 Seahawks. Also, in the 2016 Governor's Challenge, Voyles averaged 17.5 points in two games including a huge performance in an instant classic vs. Potomac (VA). The 6'3 guard holds an offer from UMES with interest from many other schools.

Michael Wynn

Another standout senior guard, Wynn is considered a top 25 player in North Carolina, and he leads a strong Liberty Heights program into the Governor’s Challenge for the first time. With nice size at 6'6, Wynn is a talented scorer and athletic defender who has shown continual improvement. He has attracted recruiting attention from power five schools like Miami, Wake Forest & Mississippi St. and received offers from high mid-majors such as Coastal Carolina, Drexel, UMass, JMU and more. Michael has recently signed his letter of intent to play at Eastern Carolina University.

Muon Reath

Muon Reath, PG, Canada Topflight Academy

Said to be the future of Canadian basketball, Muon Reath is a 6'7 15 year old phenom dominating our neighbors to the North. Muon was recently named the #1 2021 player in their entire Country of Canada.  In a article by North Pole Hoops, it was stated about Muon that "Offensively, Reath fits the Kevin Durant mould, long limbed, thin frame, with agility, speed and fast twitch muscle fibres. The X-factor here? He can really shoot it, which separates him from the rest of this class at his size." Expect the dominant freshman to show out in Salisbury with his highly talented team, Canada Topflight. "The Muon" as he is referred to as, will certainly be peaking tons of interest from college coaches here in the near future.

Sharone Wright Jr.

Sharone Wright Jr., PG, Legacy Early College

Wright debuts at the Governor’s Challenge as one of the hottest prospects in the country after a strong junior season last year at West Florence High in South Carolina. Sharone has transferred to Governor's Challenge regular, Legacy Early College, and comes to Wicomico County as part of a loaded roster, Wright is a long 6'5 point guard whose athleticism and versatility have attracted scholarship offers from some of the major programs in college basketball, including Clemson, Georgia, Memphis, VCU, among others. He has recently committed to Wake Forest.
