Some consider Antwan Burnett to be one of the best pure athletes in the country as the 6’5, 200 lbs. senior is a legitimate D1 star in both football & basketball. Before a series of injuries, Burnett earned football offers from like likes of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida & more. Now with a focus on basketball, the 4-star recruit (ESPN) is bursting onto the recruiting scene & considered to have one of the highest ceilings in the 2020 class. Antwan is also currently still deciding between playing basketball or football at the next level, and is even considering playing both. In 2018, we saw Che Evans lead his Dulaney HS team to a 4-overtime battle vs. Neumann-Goretti here at the Governors Challenge, considered to be one of the best games in event history. This year, Che will be suiting up in the opposite uniform after transferring to the Philly powerhouse this offseason. After battling injury for the past few months, the 4 star, Top 100 Recruit (as highly ranked as #37 nationally last season) has recently committed to San Diego State, while holding dozens of other offers including Texas Tech, Florida, Georgetown & others.

As one of the more electric young point guards in the country, Jayden Pierre, transferred to Elizabeth HS this fall from national power, The Patrick School, where he played as a freshman. In his first season with the Minutemen, Jayden could be a huge piece in help getting Coach Phil Colicchio his seventh total state title, but first at Elizabeth. Pierre has recently impressed at different camps and showcases which has earned him recognition on the national recruiting trail, including a 4-star rating & top 100 2022 prospect ranking by Future 150. As a 4-year starter for the Olympic Trojans, Josh Banks, and his team, will be heading into his 4th straight Gov. Challenge appearance as one of the few players to participate in all 4 HS seasons. As one of the most consistent & productive players in event history, Banks averaged 10 points per game in the event as a freshman, 13 as a sophomore, & 19 as a Junior… Now as a Senior and clear leader of the team, Josh looks to continue his dominant & winning ways here in Salisbury. Myles Wilmoth

Myles Wilmoth, PF, St. Andrews (RI)

For the third straight season, the historic program from Barrington, RI, the St. Andrews Saints, head to Maryland during their holiday break. After being led by Cole Swider (Villanova) & Brycen Goodine (Syracuse) respectively in the last two seasons, this year they will turn to the 6’9 beast PF in Myles Wilmoth. In 2018, Myles was a force on the court averaging 10 rebounds & 3 blocks in 2 games here at the event, while also chipping in 6 points per game on a loaded offensive team. After a great junior season & being named the #1 player in Rhode Island, Wilmoth committed to play college ball at Butler next season, over many other high level programs. As the top senior on the squad, the saints will look for Myles to help lead them to 2 more victories to add to the programs 4-0 record here in Salisbury.

Nate Tabor

Nate Tabor, SF, Legacy Early College (SC)

At 6’7 & 205 pounds, Nate Tabor is an ideal college level wing, originally from New York, who recently transferred to Legacy Early College In South Carolina. This 4-star senior is a huge addition to the already loaded, nationally ranked (#30 in preseason rankings) squad who will be making their 5th straight Governors Challenge appearance. Currently ranked as the #98 2020 recruit in the country by 247sports, Nate has bounced all around the national rankings including being ranked as high as the #10 prospect in his class earlier in the process. After committing to St. Johns during his junior year, Nate reopened his recruitment after a coaching change in the program. After transferring to Legacy Early College halfway through his freshman season, Perry Smith Jr. is shaping up to be a legitimate elite prospect. Looking to truly come into his own this year & make a national statement, many well-respected scouts believe Smith Jr. has the potential to be a high-major, blue blood type 5-star prospect. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Preston Murphy Jr. heads to Barrington, Rhode Island as he transfers to St. Andrews School for his sophomore season. After a productive season at Elkhorn South (NE), where he was named the #1 2022 prospect in the state, Preston makes the far move to Rhode Island to play against elite competition in the NEPSAC under a historic coaching staff. Already considered to be one of the top 2022 prospects in the country (Ranked the #15-point guard & #67 national prospect in the 2022 class by 247sports), Murphy is primed to sky rocket up the rankings and college big boards while playing for the Saints. If you missed the Dulaney Lions & Ryan Conway at the 2018 Governors Challenge, don’t let it happen again! As just a sophomore, Conway averaged 24.5 points, 5 assists & 2.5 steals per game while being named to the All GC 2nd team. Conway is not only considered to be one of the (if not the) best & most efficient scorers in Maryland, but also the country after tearing up the EYBL circuit all summer. As a 4-star recruit, the 6’0 floor general of a point guard is ranked as highly as the #65 2021 prospect in the country. On top of being an elite player on the court, Ryan is a tremendous student & leader which is a huge reason why it seems that nearly every college in the country is interested in him, ranging from High Majors to Ivy Leagues.
